Seventeen area high school boys basketball players received all-state honors from the NHBCO, including seven who were named to their respective first-teams. Milford coach Dan Murray was selected as the Division II Coach of the Year and two of his players - Mike O'Loughlin and Jamie Holder

Over a dozen local players were selected to the NHBCO girls basketball all-state teams Sunday, including four who were named to the first-team of their respective divisions. Also earning honors was Campbell coach Sean Flynn, who was named the Division III Coach of the Year after leading the Cougars

The Souhegan High School girls basketball team completed an undefeated regular season (22-0) by beating Lebanon 47-44 in the Division II final.

The Merrimack High School boys hockey team is headed to the Division II final for the first time in program history. Marcus Doucette scored the game-winner with nine minutes left in the game and the No. 1 Tomahawks rallied to beat No. 4 Bow 3-2 Wednesday in the semifinals.

Both the Bishop Guertin High School and the Milford High School boys basketball teams have earned the No. 1 seed in their respective divisions' postseason, which begin this week.
