David Downie of Merrimack High School was named the Division II boys hockey Player of the Year, and was one of over a dozen area players to receive All-State honors. Downie, who had 25 goals for the Tomahawks this season, was also named to the Division II first team, while Bedford coach Marty Myers

A total of seven champions were crowned in boys and girls basketball and boys and girls hockey on Saturday, including the Bishop Guertin High School girls basketball team, which won its first title with a win over Londonderry.

MANCHESTER – Matt Henderson flew down the ice, weaving around Bedford High School boys hockey players, and flying in on Bulldogs’ goalie Stevan Tempesta.

Winter Sports
There have been several time and date changes made to both playoff basketball games scheduled for Wednesday, and playoff hockey games scheduled for the rest of the week. Here are the changes.

The New Hampshire high school hockey playoffs are scheduled to begin on Wednesday, but the top seeds in each division won't be playing until Saturday.

Friday's high school slate includes a matchup of two of the top teams in Division I boys basketball, along with a renewal of the Gate City rivalry and a rematch of last year's title game.
