Around the Granite State: Keene field hockey picks up first win

Bella Venezia made nine saves to help the Keene High School field hockey team to a 2-0 win over Manchester Memorial on Monday.

Tessa Pearson scored off a feed from Megan Goodwin late in the second quarter to give the Blackbirds (1-1) the lead. Sofia Miller made it a two-goal game in the fourth, scoring off an assist from Kaylyn Trubiano.

Keene hosts Londonderry on Wednesday.

Windham 7, Nashua North 0

The Jaguars (1-0-1) picked up their first win of the season with a shutout of the Titans (0-1).

Kenzie Suech had two goals to lead Windham, which led 4-0 at halftime. Ava Sanchez, Amy Lanouette, Sophia Ponzini and Mia Gallinelli each had a goal, as did Livy Rondeau, who scored her first varsity goal.

Windham takes on Salem on Wednesday.

Nashua South 1, Salem 1

Kaitlyn West scored on a cross from Soleil Dubois for the Panthers' lone goal in a game that was called at halftime due to weather.

South (0-0-1) heads to Manchester Memorial on Wednesday.
