Wrestling roundup: Bedford gets quick win over Nashua North

The Bedford and Nashua North high school wrestling teams wasted little time in their dual meet Wednesday night.

Of the seven contested matches, six were decided by pin, four of them in the first 62 seconds of the match, with the Bulldogs coming away with a 48-29 win over the Titans. Both teams were missing handful of wrestlers due to injuries, including Bedford's Bobby Heald and Justin Mello, and North's John Sweeney.

Getting pins for Bedford were AJ Pagliarulo (120 pounds), Jake Hall (126) and Jacob Collins (152). The Bulldogs also got five wins by forfeit.

North's Wayne Nolette (145) and David Muite (160) each pinned his opponent in 17 seconds or less, while Joshua Santos (182) also won by pin in 59 seconds. North also got a win from John Littlefield (285), who beat Bedford's Mason Blanchard 17-2.

Windham 42, Winnacunnet 24

The Jaguars opened the season with a dual win over the Warriors, getting pins from Riley Millette (106), Jon Ferri (195) and Michael Furey (220).

Also winning for Windham was Sam Cavallaro (120), who beat Jaden Lesperence 2-0, Kurtis Blache (152), who beat Cam Gallant 6-4, Mike Tanguay (182), who beat Alex Larson 2-0, and Patrick Hume (285), who beat Brandon Barbour-Grissom 1-0.

Winnacunnet got pins from Eli Bernstein (113), Tyler Mallett (145) and Ryan Boyle (170), while Mike Dow (126) beat Vincent Marino 11-4 and Matt Cooney (138) beat Marc Bedient 7-1.

Exeter 63, Manchester Memorial 11

The Blue Hawks won six matches by forfeit and also got four pins in the win over the Crusaders. Jack Hess (106), Cole Scott (126), Brandon Cammett (152) and Cameron Bourque (160) each recorded a pin for Exeter, while Riley Green (145) beat Samantha Edwards 4-2.

Memorial got a pin from Shamir Rai (113) while Devin Johnson (138) beat Nathaniel Grimard 16-0.

Exeter 48, Nashua South 30

Exeter made it two wins on the night by beating the Panthers, as Bourque won with a pin and Cammett defeated Shad Lacombe 10-8.

South got pins from Mathhew Lamarche (106), Jeremy Bridge (113), Pranav Prabhala (126) and Pat Sullivan (145).

Hollis Brookline 48, Campbell 25

The Cavaliers opened the season with a road win over the Cougars in a non-division meet. HB got five pins in the victory, including from Zack Brickner (120 pounds), Nathaniel Lindsay (145), Wyatt Farwell (160), Sam St. Pierre (170) and Caleb Lomme (195).

HB also got a win from Cameron Dreyer (106), who beat Brendan Dougals 9-2, and Clement Sherwood (285), who beat Adam Hayward 13-6.

Campbell got pins from DJ Simmoneau (132) and Tyler McCready (138) while Dayton Chandonnet (126) beat Daniel Delong 9-3, and Marc Boomhauer recorded a major decision over Nick McPherson 18-5.

Campbell 54, Bow 21

The Cougars also picked up a win, beating the Falcons. Campbell got pins from Tyler McCrady (138), Marc Boomhower (152), Garrett Walker (160), Luke Orlando (150) and Adam Hayward (285).

Also getting wins for Campbells were Benjamin LaBatt (113), who beat Michael York 5-1, and Dillon Cloonan (145), who beat Bill Targett 10-8. Bow got a pin from Matt Haddock (170) and Mark Borak (132) beat Tyler O'Mara 10-5.

Goffstown 36, Bishop Guertin 21

The Grizzlies got four of its six wins by pin to beat the Cardinals in the season opener. Sean Smith (138), Nick Wright (145), Connor Bourque (160) and Ian Routhier (182) each record a pin for Goffstown. Bishop Guertin pins from Benjamin Salizzoni (106), Daniel Franco (126) and Jacob Bue (132) while Colin O'Connor (120) got a 6-4 win over Jac St. Jean.

Londonderry 48, Manchester Central 24

The Lancers got five pins among their nine wins to beat the Little Green.

David Donnelly (120), Ryan Cabezas (126), Tyler Byrd (132), Andrew Chase (138) and Ben Psaledas (182) each recorded a pin for Londonderry. Also getting wins were Sammy Achab (145), who beat Marquise G-boyer 6-4, and Mahdi Achab (170), who beat Ibragim Arsakhanov 6-2.

Central got pins from Joshua Nichols (152) and Zachary Minch (285).

Milford 53, Merrimack 21

The Spartans won 10 matches in their win over the Tomahawks, including pins by Matt DiGiosio (106), Michael Pellitteri (152), Kyle Faucher-Clancy (160) and Johnathan Shaw (220).

Also winning for Milford was Ryan Hamilton (132), who beat Eric Theriault 4-2, Ricky DeBernardo (145), who beat Sean Hebert 22-7, and George Horta (182), who beat Phoenyx Stopyra 9-6. Ethan Briggs (126) also won by injury default.

Merrimack got pins from Kent Dow (138), Mitchell McMahon (195) and Shane Heath (285).

White Mountains 54, John  Stark 12

White Mountains won seven matches by forfeit against the Generals, while Liam Hayden (120) and Fran Gesel (182) each recorded a pin. John Stark got pins from Ben Widmann (138) and Damyon Rabbia (145).

Winnisquam 54, John Stark 16

The Bears also got a big win over the Generals, winning eight matches by forfeit. Caleb Mulleavey (120) also recorded a pin for Winnisquam.

John Stark got a pin from Rabbia while Widmann defeated Kyle Bolduc 13-3.

Winnisquam 42, White Mountains 40

The Bears picked up their second win of the night by beating the Spartans. Winnisquam got pins from Kenzie Bourgeois (113), Kyle Bolduc (145), Todd Robinson (220) and Tyler Moran (285).

White Mountains got pins from Liam Hayden (120), Paul Kleinschrodt (152) and Fran Gesel (170). Luke Beaulieau (138) also got a win, beating Tyler Swain 16-7.

Concord 49, Keene 11

The Crimson Tide opened the season with a win over the Blackbirds, getting seven pins in the dual meet.

Mark Hoyt (106), Connor Stadnicki (126), Devon Gilligan (138), George Tarwo (182), Mitch Comeau (195), Alex Buteau (220) and Tyshawn Roberts (285) each recorded a pin for Concord. Jake Linquata (113) also got a win, beating Tanner Ells 5-4, while Liddon Ling (132) beat Louis Ells 17-2 and Jake Pickard (145) beat Scott Rathbun 9-4.

Keene got a pin from Ford Oster (170) while Tristan Stetson (120) defeated Forrest Mackenzie 19-2.

Newport 48, Kearsarge 30

The Tigers won six of the seven contested matches to beat the Cougars to open the season.

Riley Avery (113), Dylan Palmer (145), Tyler Sharron (170), Stephan Nix (182), Mike Tremblay (195) and Branten McFadden (285) each recorded a pin for Newport.

Kearsarge got a pin from Bryce Brown (160).

Mascoma Valley 30, Pelham 24

The Pythons won all four contested matches, but the Royals won five matches by forfeit for the win. Pelham got pins from Tanner Bogner (120), Owen Haskins (138), Zach Koch (152) and Jason Gleason (160).

Timerlane 72, Alvirne 4

The Owls cruised to victory, getting pins from Taylor Donovan (106), Casey Broadhurst (132), Cody Lewis (138), Justin Berube (145), Dylan Hughes (152), Cam Altobelli (160), Jacob Post (182), Ryan Cole (220) and Noah Beaulieu (285).

Connor McConagle (126) also won for Timberlane, beating Nicholas Millinazzo 12-0, while Ben Sargent (195) beat Jacob Noonan 6-4.

Alvirne's lone win came from Cam McClure (120), who beat Antonio Pallaria 14-3.
