The Winnacunnet High School field hockey team is off to strong start this season and that start has now helped the Warriors get somewhere new.

For the first time, Winnacunnet has taken over the top spot in the New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Coaches Poll.

The Warriors received seven first-place votes to trade places with Pinkerton, who received three first-place votes. The Astros had been the top team in the first three polls of the season, with Winnacunnet at No. 2\.

A week after trading spots, Souhegan and Keene did so again this week, with the Sabers moving back up to No. 3 and the Blackbirds coming in at No. 4\.

Bow and Londonderry also traded places ahead of their game on Monday, with the Falcons moving up to No. 5 while the Lancers went to No. 6\. Bedford and Hanover each moved up a spot to come in at Nos. 7 and 8, respectively, this week.

Dover dropped two spots to take the No. 9 position while Merrimack bumped Bishop Guertin out of the poll, taking over at No. 10\. The two teams will also play each other on Monday.
