Warriors, Bulldogs lead locals on boys soccer all-state teams

Both the Wilton-Lyndeborough and Bedford high school boys soccer teams had two players each named to their respective all-state first teams.

The Warriors won the Division IV title, their first boys soccer title since 1962, and had three players receive all-state honors overall, while the Bulldogs, who advanced to the Division II final for the first time in school history, had four players named to the all-state teams. Bedford head coach Stuart Pepper was also named the Division II coach of the year.

Eighteen area players were named to the all-state teams overall, including six who received first-team honors.

Division I

Merrimack's Brandon Currier was the lone area player to receive Division I first-team honors, while Nashua North's Simon Ciza was named to the second team.

Bishop Guertin's Matt Feenan and Devin L'Heureux were both named honorable mention, as were Alvirne's Jimmy Tomaswick and Merrimack's Adam Jimenez.

Division II

Bedford's Evan Powlowsky and Erik Martel both received Division II first-team honors, as did Souhegan's Willis Griffith.

The Bulldogs also had two players named to the second team - Danny Connelly and Matt Cote. Hollis/Brookline's Gaeton Ciot also received second-team honors.

Cody Modelski of Hollis/Brookline, Dalton Colen of Souhegan and Richard Moore of Milford were named honorable mention.

Division III

Campbell's Andrew Schibly was named to the Division III second team, while teammate Evan Leith was named honorable mention.

Division IV

Wilton-Lyndeborough's Stephen Taliadoros and Adam Edmunds were both named to the Division IV first team. The Warriors' Chris Flanagan also received honorable mention honors.

Nashua Christian's Jon Kittle was named to the second-team.
