# UNH to host NHIAA football championship games

The NHIAA has found a home for its three football division championship games.

On Monday, the organization and the University of New Hampshire [announced the school](http://www.nashuatelegraph.com/sports/highschoolsports/1031016-457/nhiaa-unh-announce-plan-to-hold-football.html?ref=nh-highschoolsports.com) would [host all three](http://www.nhfootballreport.com/2014/03/unh%5Fnhiaa%5Fform%5Fsuper%5Fsaturday.html?ref=nh-highschoolsports.com) football championship games on Nov. 22 at Cowell Stadium. Super Saturday will feature the Division III game at 11 a.m., the Division II game at 2:30 p.m. and the Division I game at 6 p.m.

Football is the only sport sanctioned by the NHIAA that had played its championship games at the home of the higher seed. All other sports determine a champion at a neutral site, and the NHIAA has tried to move its football title games in that direction before.

Two years ago, there was a [proposed plan](https://www.nh-highschoolsports.com/high-school-football-championships-heading-to-saint-anselm-college/) to play the then six division championship games at Saint Anselm College over two weekends, but was changed before the start of the season. And in 2007, another plan was drafted, this time to host the then five championship games at different high school stadiums across the state. That plan was dumped mid-season.

The NHIAA football season is scheduled to being on Friday, Sept. 5.
