Tomahawks take down Blue Hawks in opener

The Merrimack High School girls volleyball team got its season underway with a 3-0 win over Exeter Tuesday, sweeping the Division I match 25-20, 25-17 and 25-19.

Jenn Duggan had 11 kills and five digs for the Tomahawks (1-0), while Bree McCarthy added 16 assists and Maggie Kenney chipped in with nine kills and five aces.

Merrimack will travel to Winnacunnet Friday.
