Tomahawks hand Cavs their first loss

The Merrimack High School girls volleyball team bounced back from a first-game defeat to beat Hollis/Brookline 3-1 in a Division I match Wednesday. Scores were 22-25, 25-23, 25-22 and 25-21.

Paige Corbett had eight assists and one block for the Tomahawks (3-1) while Bree McCarthy had 11 assists and Maggie Kenney had five kills and 14 digs. Catherine Kazazian added 14 digs, nine kills and four blocks while Jenn Duggan chipped in with eight kills and five aces.

Merrimack returns to action Thursday at Alvirne.
