# Titans capture first D1 boys track title

The Nashua High School North boys track team finally got its championship Sunday by winning the Division I indoor meet at Dartmouth College.

After finishing third indoors a year ago and as the runner-up last outdoor season, the Titans have the first boys team championship in school history.

North needed at least a point in the final event - the 4x200 relay - to finish ahead of Bishop Guertin. The Titans won the relay to finish with 67 1/2 points while the Cardinals were second with 58\. Salem was third with 34 and Exeter came in fourth with 32.

Nashua South finished fifth with 31 points and Merrimack finished sixth with 26 1/2.

The Titans got first-place finishes in four events, including the 4x200 relay. Andre Williams came in first in the 300-meter dash, in 36.13 seconds, and was also fourth in the 55 in 6.73.

Eric Muite took first in the 55 hurdles (7.66), the second straight year he's won that event, and Jahmar Gathright was first in the long jump (20-2 3/4) and the high jump (5-8).

Muite, Williams and Gathright teamed with Louis Tarantino to take first in the 4x200 in 1:34.04\. Tarantino was also fifth in the 55 (6.74).

Devin Motivala came in second in the 1,000, finishing in 2:34.81, and teammate Brandon Davis-O'Donnell was fourth in the 1,000 (2:40.88). Tim Coy was fourth in the shot put (44-8 3/4) and Alex Amado tied for fifth in the high jump, clearing 5-8.

Jeff LaCoste nearly won the meet for Bishop Guertin on his own, finishing first in all four events he competed. LaCoste won the 1,000 (2:34.27), the 1,500 (4:11.23) and the 3,000 (8:54.37) and he joined Chris Cogliano, Andrew Perez and Matt Chapman to win the 4x400 relay (3:35.25).

Cogliano also took fifth in the 1,000 (2:41.85) and he and Chapman teamed with Brian Donaghy and Griffin Gagnon to finish third in the 4x800 (8:26.73). Brandon Latham finished second in the 1,500 (4:12.29) and Perez was also fifth in the 600 (1:26.23).

South got points out of the shot put, as Colin Quinn finished second with a throw of 48-9 1/2, while Ian Parsons came in third with a distance of 47-10 1/2\. Aaron Martin finished third in the 1,000 (2:37.81) and Keith Guay was third in the high jump 5-10\. South's 4x400 relay team was fourth (3:38.21).

Brody Williams had a solid performance for Merrimack, finishing second in the 55 hurdles (8.07) and fifth in the long jump (19-5 3/4). Devin Martin took fourth in the long jump 19-8 and finished tied for fifth in the high jump.

Chaz Myers came in third in the 300 (36.13) and Jonathan Jimenez was fifth in the 55 hurdles (8.3). The 4x200 relay team of Williams, Myers, Julian Dano and Chase DiStasio came in fifth (1:39.16) while the 4x800 relay team of Chris Busby, John Conlin, Thomas Lee and Nicholas Johnson placed sixth (8:40.85).
