The spring sports preseason started on Monday, but the games won’t start for real for three more weeks, so it’s the perfect time to start circling some dates on the calendar.

Here are some of the top games to look out for in 2023 in Division II girls lacrosse, in chronological order. Schedules are subject to change, so check with your respective teams to make sure a date or time hasn’t changed.

### April 10: Timberlane at Winnacunnet

- After ending the 2022 regular season against each other, these two will meet to start 2023\. Their game last year decided the eighth and final playoff spot in D2, with the Warriors getting a win and claiming that final seed in the postseason.

### April 10: John Stark/Hillsboro-Deering at ConVal

- Just like the boys programs, the girls teams from John Stark and Hillsboro-Deering will co-op this season, but will play games in Weare, while the boys will be in Hillsboro. The General-Cats will play their first game together on the road at ConVal.

### April 13: Goffstown at Winnacunnet

- The Warriors get their second tough opponent to open the season, as a Grizzlies squad that was a playoff team a year ago travels to Hampton. It was a shootout when these two teams met a year ago, as they combined to score 32 goals in a win for Winnacunnet.

### April 17: Hollis Brookline at Windham

- The first of two meetings between these two teams, they'll also play in Hollis on May 17, and both sides typically bring a lot of intensity to this game. The Cavaliers have won five of the last six meetings going back to the 2018 season, including twice in the playoffs.

### May 11: Oyster River-Newmarket at Pembroke

- A matchup of two teams that made the postseason a year ago, each with a good group of up-and-coming players, and when they played a year ago, it was the Bobcats who took a one-goal win on the road.

### May 19: Hollis Brookline at Hanover

- With Portsmouth moving up to D1, this could potentially be a preview of the division title game. HB has played in three of the last four, finishing as a runner-up to the Clippers. The teams have split six meetings since 2017, including a win by the Cavaliers in the semifinals each of the last two seasons.

### May 22: Winnacunnet at Hollis Brookline

- Another evenly matched rivalry over the years, these two teams have split eight games in the last five seasons, including in the semifinals in 2018 (won by HB) and in 2019 (won by Winnacunnet). The Cavs put up 22 goals in their win over the Warriors a year ago.

### May 25: Pembroke at Hanover

- A rematch of last year's quarterfinals, won by the Bears. This year's meeting should be a good tune up for both sides going into the postseason and could be a preview of another tourney game.
