When I first saw there was going to be a month in between the championship games for Division I and II basketball and the start of the lacrosse preseason, I hoped that I'd be able to use that time wisely. And believe me, I have been. It's been a lot of plotting and planning over the last couple of weeks (OK, and even before that, too), and now I'm ready to share a lot of what game out of that with you. There are still about a dozen days until practices officially start, but I'm ready to get the ball rolling on the 2022 lacrosse season now. For most of the winter, there have been highlights posted every Monday from the NH Tomahawks Indoor League, and that will once again be the case next week as play wraps up for this session on Sunday. The first episode of the Ninth State Sports Show: Lacrosse Edition will be posted on Thursday, as Chris Hettler and I go over some changes to look for this season and we have a special guest joining us - Sean Houlahan, the head coach of the University of New Hampshire men's lacrosse team. There will be new podcasts every Thursday from now until the end of the season, with a few tweaks during the playoffs, and this year, I am planning on adding another weekly podcast to focus just on girls lacrosse. Still working out the details on that, but aiming to start that up the first week of the regular season. Also this year, I'm planning to add a girls lacrosse coaches poll to pair with the one we've been doing for boys lacrosse for a few years. Both of those will be updated every Monday during the season. As games get underway, I'm looking to have daily highlight videos together to run with roundup items. Bookmark it and set yourself a reminder to do it right after games. You will make myself and your players' parents very happy. I'll begin the preseason previews on April 6 with the release of the Preseason All-State Watch Lists for both boys and girls, with previews for each division to follow.
