Special fall sports memberships return for the 2021 season

What usually gets me first in the fall is the change in temperature.

There are still hot days, don't get me wrong, where you have to make sure the sunscreen is packed and the water bottles are full.

But leaving early to drop by on that first day of practice, there's typically a chill in the air. I'm dressed for the blazing sun in the midday, but in the morning, stepping outside, there's a little shiver that runs through you, that reminds you that fall is right around the corner.

Let's add that to the list of many things that we missed out on last year. Although there was an abbreviated fall sports season, it didn't start until well into September, when leaves were already changing and the colder weather already on its way.

This year looks like it might be a little closer to normal - fingers crossed - so hopefully we'll see the return of those chilly preseason mornings, along with crowds on Friday nights and handshake lines at the end of games.

I'm excited to announce there will be a few other things returning around here as well.

Once again this fall, we'll be offering sports-specific memberships for the 2021 season, following both football and field hockey this season.

By signing up for a football or field hockey membership, you'll be getting access to all stories for that specific sport for all of the fall season, plus you'll also receive the 2021 Football or Field Hockey Yearbook for the sport you sign up to follow.

Coverage this year will include game stories, features, analysis, plus a weekly membership notebook featuring the teams that people have signed up from. So that means the more people who sign up for coverage from a particular team, the more I'll be covering them, so spread the word.

The start of practices is a little more than a week away. Before you know it, the fall season will be here, and the opportunity to sign up for these memberships won't be around long after that, so don't hesitate.
