The Milford High School girls soccer team started the season off on the right foot, defeating Con-Val 2-0 in the Division II opener for both teams.

Mary Donovan had a goal and an assist to lead the Spartans (1-0) while Christina Vlachos had the other Milford goal. Kelsey Landry added an assist and Alex Hiley made 15 saves for her first shutout. Rachel Gray, Cassie Sebas, Dina Pitsas and Brittney White played well defensively.

Milford has a week off before it hosts Oyster River on Friday.
