Coming off a pair of big wins, the Souhegan High School field hockey team moved to place it hasn't been before.

After wins over Bow and Bishop Guertin, the Sabers climbed up to No. 2 in this week's New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Coaches Poll, the highest the program has ever been ranked.

Winnacunnet was No. 1 for the third week in a row, getting seven first-place votes, while Souhegan took one first-place vote.

Pinkerton, which had been No. 2 the last two weeks, dropped one spot to No. 3. The Astros will host the Warriors on Wednesday in what could be the biggest game of the regular season in Division I.

Keene came in at No. 4, the fifth time in six polls this season the Blackbirds have held that spot, while Bow remained at No. 5 for the third week in a row.

Bedford moved up a spot to No. 6, trading places with Merrimack, which dropped to No. 7 after the Bulldogs handed the Tomahawks a loss last week. Merrimack had won seven in a row before that loss, while Bedford has won seven of eight.

Hanover jumped up two spots to come in at No. 8, while Londonderry and Dover both moved down one spot to Nos. 9 and 10, respectively.
