# Souhegan boys soccer upsets John Stark in playoffs

Thomas Horner scored late to give the No. 10 Souhegan High School boys soccer team a 2-1 win over No. 7 John Stark in the Division II preliminary round on Wednesday.

Horner's goal in the 76th minute helped the Sabers (7-6-2) advance after finishing the regular season on an 0-4-1 slide.

Cameron Watson scored off an assist from Mason Young to give Souhegan the lead in the 71st minute, but John Stark's Ryan Nelson tied it a minute later, with Isaiah Lovering getting the assist.

Keelan MacKenzie had a helper on the game-winner while Souhegan goalie Will Facques made seven saves. Chase Patterson also stopped seven shots for John Stark (11-6).

Souhegan moves on to face No. 2 Pembroke in the quarterfinals on Saturday.
