Souhegan boys soccer shuts out St. Thomas

The Souhegan High School boys soccer team scored twice in the second half and held off St. Thomas for a 2-0 victory Tuesday in Division II action.

Ali Eweiss scored in the 51st minute, off an assist from Josh Massa, to give the Sabers the game winner, and Matt Hopfenspirger added an insurance goal in the 67th minute, with Jasper Jones getting the assist.

Teigue Young made four saves in goal for Souhegan (1-0), while Reed Larson, Pat Noble, Tim Driscoll and Nick Scavetta played well defensively in front of Young. St. Thomas (0-2) goalie Zach Szczeockowicz made seven saves.
