The Alvirne High School girls basketball team fell behind by double digits early and couldn't recover against Londonderry, falling 66-48 on the road Tuesday night.

The Broncos (10-3 in Division I) were down 16-0 five minutes into the game, as they struggled on offense against the Lancers (11-2). Katie Donovan led Alvirne with 14 points while Taylor Carbone added 12 markers and Deanna Purcell chipped in with 10.

Savanna Butterfield had 15 points for Londonderry and Catherine Cloutier recorded a double double, scoring 11 points and grabbing 12 boards.

Alvirne returns to the court Friday at 7 p.m. at Nashua South.
