The Pelham High School boys tennis team handed Souhegan its fifth straight loss on Wednesday, 7-2, in Class I action.

The loss dropped the Sabers to 5-5 on the season, while the Pythons are 8-2 and have won seven straight matches.

Sam Protzmann won the No. 1 match for Souhegan, defeating Pelham's Jared Taylor, 8-4\. But Pelham won the other five singles matches, with Matt Smith winning at No. 2 over Nishon Radhakrishnan, 8-5.

Ryan Fyfe took the No. 3 match from Nick Poulack, 8-0, while Ethan Ely defeated Nate Redington, 8-1, at No. 4\. Matt Mercier won the No. 5 match over Liam Murphy, 8-3, and Gabe Ramos won the No. 6 match, 8-6, over Matt Protzmann.

Poulack and Redington won the No. 2 doubles match for Souhegan, beating Mercier and Ely, 8-3.

Taylor and Smith knocked of Sam Protzmann and Radhakrishnan, 8-5, in the No. 1 doubles match while Ramos and Fyfe won the No. 3 match over Murphy and Matt Protzmann, 8-6.
