Sabers rally for first win

The Souhegan High School baseball team allowed six runs in the first inning, but rallied for a 10-7 win over Pelham in the Class I opener for both teams on Wednesday in Amherst.

Tyler Manoogian and Matt Shagrin provided clutch hitting for the Sabers (1-0) while Terry Dugdale drove in a run.

Souhegan also announced its Player of the Week, with this week's award going to senior catcher DJ Petropulos.

Petropulos has lived up to the tradition "catchers coaching the catchers," and he has tried to work with every player at that position in the program. Petropulos also provided valuable leadership during the program's annual trip to New York.
