Portsmouth baseball crushes Souhegan

The Portsmouth High School baseball team scored 10 runs in the third inning on the way to a 16-2 win over Souhegan on Friday in five innings.

The win was the 69th in a row for the Clippers, which is six short of the national high school record, set by Homer (Mich.) in 2005.

Taylor Keegan got the win for Portsmouth (6-0), improving to 3-0 on the season and 17-0 in his varsity career.

Zack Polio took the loss for the Sabers (2-3). Tyler Manoogian had two hits while Nick Hession and Robby McCormick each drove in a run in the fourth. Cameron Crook also got his first career hit for Souhegan.
