Here is a look at this week's schedule of games in Division II and any playoff implications each might carry.
The top eight teams advance to the playoffs based on football rating, which means that every game counts toward who will move on and who won't. Teams get 10 points for every win and two points for each win by a defeated opponent.
ConVal (6-1) at St. Thomas (5-2)
- When: Saturday, 1:30 p.m. in Dover
- Last Week: ConVal beat Pelham 42-7. St. Thomas beat Hillsboro-Deering/Hopkinton 49-20.
- Remaining games: ConVal hosts Windham on Oct. 28. St. Thomas plays at Trinity on Oct. 28.
- ConVal wins: Manchester West (0-7), Kingswood (0-7), Sanborn (3-4), Trinity (1-6), Hollis Brookline (5-2), Pelham (2-5).
- St. Thomas wins: Sanborn (3-4), Pelham (2-5), Souhegan (2-5), Milford (5-2), Hillsboro-Deering/Hopkinton (2-5).
- Playoff implications: This game might be bigger for ConVal, given that it finishes with the second-toughest two games in the regular season. Two losses by the Cougars opens the door for Hollis Brookline or Lebanon from jumping ahead. St. Thomas will likely be in the postseason with a win or a loss.
Bow (6-1) at John Stark (7-0)
- When: Saturday, 7 p.m. in Weare.
- Last Week: Bow beat Merrimack Valley 42-20. John Stark beat Plymouth 42-35.
- Remaining games: Bow will host Lebanon on Oct. 29. John Stark heads to Hanover on Oct. 28.
- Bow wins: Pembroke (1-6), Hillsboro-Deering/Hopkinton (2-5), Gilford-Belmont (1-6), Kingswood (0-7), Kennett (3-4), Merrimack Valley (1-6).
- John Stark wins: Souhegan (2-5), Gilford-Belmont (1-6), Lebanon (4-3), Kingswood (0-7), Laconia (3-4), Pembroke (1-6), Plymouth (6-1).
- Playoff implications: John Stark is likely already in even if it loses its last two games, but a win would keep alive hopes at one of the top two seeds in the playoffs. A win for Bow would likely put the Falcons in, while a loss would mean they'd have to beat Lebanon in the finale to get in.
Lebanon (4-3) at Plymouth (6-1)
- When: Saturday, 1:30 p.m. in Plymouth.
- Last Week: Lebanon lost to Windham 58-21. Plymouth lost to John Stark 42-35.
- Remaining games: Lebanon plays at Bow on Oct. 29. Plymouth heads to Milford on Oct. 28.
- Lebanon wins: Merrimack Valley (1-6), Pembroke (1-6), Kennett (3-4), Laconia (3-4).
- Plymouth wins: Kingswood (0-7), Kennett (3-4), Laconia (3-4), Bow (6-1), Merrimack Valley (1-6), Gilford-Belmont (1-6).
- Playoff implications: Lebanon has played the toughest schedule in the division, with loses coming against John Stark, Hanover and Windham - all 7-0 - and the Raiders have two tough games to close the season. By winning out over two six-win teams, Lebanon would likely have a higher rating than most other three-loss teams. Plymouth should be in, but winning at least one of the final would certainly help.
Kennett (3-4) at Hanover (7-0)
- When: Friday, 7 p.m, at Hanover.
- Last Week: Kennett lost to Laconia 14-7. Hanover defeated Kingswood 31-9.
- Remaining games: Kennett plays at Kingswood on Oct. 28. Hanover hosts John Stark on Oct. 28.
- Kenntt wins: Gilford-Belmont (1-6), Merrimack Valley (1-6), St. Thomas (5-2).
- Hanover wins: Laconia (3-4), Merrimack Valley (1-6), Pembroke (1-6), Lebanon (4-3), Gilford-Belmont (1-6), Sanborn (3-4), Kingswood (0-7).
- Playoff implications: Last week's loss to Laconia likely ended Kennett's chances at a playoff spot, but if any do exist, the Eagles have to win this game. Like John Stark, Hanover has likely done enough to get into the playoffs. The Marauders could still win the conference even with a loss to Kennett.
Sanborn (3-4) at Milford (5-2)
- When: Friday, 7 p.m. at Milford.
- Last Week: Sanborn beat Souhegan 28-21. Milford beat Trinity 35-6.
- Remaining games: Sanborn hosts Hillsboro-Deering/Hopkinton on Oct. 29. Milford hosts Plymouth on Oct. 28.
- Sanborn wins: Manchester West (0-7), Pelham (2-5), Souhegan (2-5).
- Milford wins: ConVal (6-1), Pelham (2-5), Manchester West (0-7), Souhegan (2-5), Trinity (1-6).
- Playoff implications: The win over Souhegan last week was likely too little, too late for Sanborn. The Indians would get a boost in their rating from a win over Milford, but even with a win next week over HDH, it wouldn't be enough. Milford needs a win this week with Plymouth coming to town to finish the regular season. The Spartans are in good position to make the playoffs, but finishing 5-4 would all but put Milford on the outside.
Manchester West (0-7) at Windham (7-0)
- When: Saturday, 1:30 p.m. at Windham.
- Last Week: Manchester West lost to Hollis Brookline 50-20. Windham defeated Lebanon 58-21.
- Remaining games: Manchester West plays at Pelham on Oct. 28. Windham plays at ConVal on Oct. 28.
- West wins: none.
- St. Thomas wins: Hollis Brookline (5-2), Milford (5-2), Hillsboro-Deering/Hopkinton (2-5), Souhegan (2-5), St. Thomas (5-2), Trinity (1-6), Lebanon (4-3).
- Playoff implications: Windham would likely lock up the No. 1 overall seed with a win.
Pelham (2-5) at Hollis Brookline (5-2)
- When: Saturday, 1:30 p.m. in Hollis.
- Last Week: Pelham lost to ConVal 42-7. Hollis Brookline beat Manchester West 50-20.
- Remaining games: Pelham hosts Manchester West on Oct. 28. Hollis Brookline plays at Souhegan on Oct. 28.
- Pelham wins: Gilford-Belmont (1-6), Hillsboro-Deering/Hopkinton (2-5).
- Hollis Brookline wins: Sanborn (3-4), Trinity (1-6), Merrimack Valley (1-6), Hillsboro-Deering/Hopkinton (2-5), Manchester West (0-7).
- Playoff implications: Hollis Brookline enters the game on the outside of the postseason picture, but if the Cavaliers win out and someone else stumbles - ConVal, Milford, Bow, St. Thomas - to the finish, they could jump back into the field.
