Playoff scenarios for this weekend's Division I football games

Here's a look at this week's schedule of football games, and how each one will affect the postseason.

East/West Cluster

Bishop Guertin (6-1) at Exeter (6-1)

• When: Friday, 7 p.m. at Bill Ball Stadium.
• Last Week: Bishop Guertin beat Alvirne, 23-16. Exeter beat Nashua South, 35-14.
• Last Meeting: Bishop Guertin won 21-14 on Sept. 28, 2013.
• Remaining games: Bishop Guertin is at Nashua North on Oct. 28. Exeter is at Alvirne on Oct. 28.
• Playoff implications: While the winner will most likely end up as the No. 1 seed in the cluster, the circumstances are different. Bishop Guertin has already clinched a playoff spot, but even with a win, the Cardinals wouldn't get the top seed in the West unless Nashua North loses to Spaulding. Exeter would clinch the No. 1 seed if it wins, and could still clinch it with a loss, if North beats Spaulding this week and then beats Bishop Guertin next week.

Nashua South (4-3) at Portsmouth (4-3)

• When: Friday, 7 p.m. at Portsmouth.
• Last Week: Nashua South lost to Exeter 35-14. Portsmouth lost to Nashua North 23-14.
• Last Meeting: Nashua South won 49-14 on Sept. 4, 2010.
• Remaining games: Nashua South hosts Dover on Oct. 29. Portsmouth plays at Spaulding on Oct. 28.
• Playoff implications: The simple part is that the loser is almost certainly eliminated from the postseason. The winner is still alive, but has a lot of work to do, and needs help. For South, the Panthers need a win and a Dover loss against Winnacunnet to set what would amount to a play-in game in the finale. For Portsmouth, the Clippers need to win out, then have Bishop Guertin finish with at least seven wins. Then the Clippers need either Exeter, Nashua North or Dover to lose out.

Spaulding (0-7) at Nashua North (5-2)

• When: Friday, 7 p.m. at Stellos Stadium.
• Last Week: Spaulding lost to Winnacunnet 48-15. Nashua North beat Portsmouth 23-14.
• Last Meeting: Spaulding won 26-0 on Sept. 20, 2013.
• Remaining games: Spaulding hosts Portsmouth on Oct. 28. Nashua North hosts Bishop Guertin on Oct. 28.
• Playoff implications: A win for Nashua North would clinch a playoff spot.

Winnacunnet (2-5) at Dover (5-2)

• When: Friday, 7 p.m. at Dover.
• Last Week: Winnacunnet beat Spaulding 48-15. Dover beat Keene 34-28.
• Last Meeting: Winnacunnet won 40-0 on Sept. 18, 2015.
• Remaining games: Winnacunnet hosts Keene on Oct. 28. Dover plays at Nashua South on Oct. 29.
• Playoff implications: Winnacunnet gets a chance to play spoiler, as Dover would clinch a spot with a win and a loss by South to Portsmouth.

Keene (2-5) at Alvirne (1-6)

• When: Friday, 7 p.m. in Hudson.
• Last Week: Keene lost to Dover 34-28. Alvirne lost to Bishop Guertin 23-16.
• Last Meeting: Bishop Guertin won 21-14 on Sept. 28, 2013.
• Remaining games: Keene beat Alvirne 23-15 on Sept. 4, 2015.
• Playoff implications: None.

North/South Cluster

Salem (6-1) at Goffstown (6-1)

• When: Saturday, 1:30 p.m. at Goffstown.
• Last Week: Salem beat Londonderry 29-17. Goffstown beat Manchester Central 21-10.
• Last Meeting: Goffstown won 28-22 on Oct. 12, 2013.
• Remaining games: Salem hosts Bedford on Oct. 28. Goffstown plays at Merrimack on Oct. 28.
• Playoff implications: Both teams have already clinched playoff spots. The loser will most likely end up with the fourth seed in the cluster. If Salem wins out, it could still have a shot at the No. 1 seed if Merrimack were to lose one of its final two games. Goffstown would need Bedford to lose both of its final two games to finish higher than third.

Merrimack (6-1) at Timberlane (1-6)

• When: Friday, 6:30 p.m. in Plaistow.
• Last Week: Merrimack beat Pinkerton 68-29. Timberlane lost to Concord 27-21.
• Last Meeting: Timberlane won 24-0 on Oct. 30, 2015.
• Remaining games: Merrimack hosts Goffstown on Oct. 28. Timberlane plays at Londonderry on Oct. 28
• Playoff implications: Timberlane has beaten Merrimack 10 straight times, going back to 2004. The Tomahawks have already clinched a playoff spot and need a win and a Salem loss to claim the top spot in the South Conference. Merrimack also still has a shot at the No. 1 seed, it wins out and Bedford loses twice.

Concord (2-5) at Bedford (7-0)

• When: Friday, 7 p.m. at Bedford
• Last Week: Concord beat Timberlane 27-21. Bedford beat Manchester Memorial 58-0.
• Last Meeting: Bedford won 28-14 on Oct. 17, 2015.
• Remaining games: Concord hosts Manchester Central on Oct. 28. Bedford heads to Salem on Oct. 28.
• Playoff implications: Bedford would clinch the No. 1 seed in the cluster with a win and a loss by Salem.

Pinkerton (3-4) at Manchester Central (3-4)

• When: Friday, 7:15 p.m. at Gill Stadium.
• Last Week: Pinkerton lost to Merrimack 68-29. Central lost to Goffstown 21-10.
• Last Meeting: Pinkerton won 37-20 on Sept. 13, 2013.
• Remaining games: Pinkerton hosts Manchester Memorial on Oct. 28. Central heads to Concord on Oct. 28.
• Playoff implications: None. Both teams were eliminated last week.

Manchester Memorial (0-7) at Londonderry (1-6)

• When: Friday, 7 p.m. at Londonderry.
• Last Week: Memorial lost to Bedford 58-0. Londonderry lost to Salem 29-17.
• Last Meeting: Londonderry won 34-32 on Oct. 25, 2013.
• Remaining games: Memorial heads to Pinkerton on Oct. 28. Londonderry hosts Timberlane on Oct. 28.
• Playoff implications: None.
