Playoff Picture: Girls Lacrosse
The champions have picked up right where they left off in high school girls lacrosse. All three of the defending division champions sit at top the standings in their respective divisions, but a lot will still happen before the postseason begins in a little more than a month.

With the postseason scheduled to begin on June 1, here is what each division looks like, if the playoffs started today.
Division I
The top eight teams in the division advance to the quarterfinals.

Quarterfinal matchups

- No. 7 Exeter at No. 2 Souhegan
- No. 6 Salem at No. 3 Bedford
The top three teams in the division have opened the year beating up on the teams below, but none have played head-to-head yet.
Pinkerton's two losses have come against two of the top three - Bedford and Souhegan - while Londonderry's losses have come to Pinkerton and Bishop Guertin. Souhegan faces a tough test on Monday, heading to Needham (Mass.), the third-ranked team in the state according to LaxPower.
The No. 1 seed could take until the final game of the regular season to determine, as Bishop Guertin will host Souhegan on May 26.
Division II
The top eight teams in the division advance to the quarterfinals.

- Hanover (4-2)

Unlike the other divisions, the top teams in D2 have already beaten up on each other, with Windham beating Portsmouth, Portsmouth beating Winnacunnet, and Winnacunnet beating Windham. And all three teams will play each other again.
All three teams will also have to face Hanover at least once in the regular season. The Marauders have yet to lose a game within the division this year.
Division III

It's a big week for the top of the standings, as Derryfield heads to Kearsarge and Pelham goes to St. Thomas on Monday, while Bow travels to Laconia on Wednesday.
Derryfield and Laconia may be a step ahead of everyone else offensively, as they've filled up the scoring sheet so far this season. The Cougars have averaged 19.6 goals per game to start the season, while the Sachems aren't far behind at 17 goals per game.
