# Playoff Picture: Girls Lacrosse (May 26)

It’s less than one week until the start of the girls lacrosse postseason in New Hampshire, so here is a look at where each team stands and who is in and who is out in all three divisions.

*Note: With the NHIAA’s new 70-percent rule in place for the postseason, all three girls lacrosse divisions will have eight playoff teams. Standings based off results reported to NHIAA.org and other media outlets.*

### Division I

**Playoff field**

1. Bedford (15-2, 3.5294)
2. Souhegan (14-2, 3.5000)
3. Bishop Guertin (13-3, 3.2500)
4. Londonderry (13-4, 3.0000)
5. Pinkerton (13-5, 2.8889)
6. Merrimack (9-7, 2.2500)
7. Concord (8-7, 2.1333)
8. Nashua South (8-8, 2.0000)

**Outside:** Exeter (8-9, 1.8824).

**Eliminated:** Manchester Central (4-11, 1.0667); Nashua North (4-12, 1.0000); Dover (2-13, 0.5333); Keene (2-13, 0.5333); Salem (1-13, 0.2857).

**Remaining schedule**

- **Friday:** Souhegan at Concord, 4 p.m.; Winnacunnet at Exeter, 4 p.m.; Manchester Central at Keene, 4 p.m.; Salem at Londonderry, 4 p.m.

**Scenarios**

- If Souhegan beats Concord, it is the No. 1 seed and Bedford is the No. 2 seed. If Souhegan loses, it falls to No. 2 and Bedford is No. 1.
- Bishop Guertin will be the No. 3 seed.
- Londonderry clinches the fourth seed with a win over Salem, or a loss and a loss by Concord to Souhegan and a loss by Exeter against Winnacunnet.
- Pinkerton clinches the fourth seed with a Londonderry loss and both an Exeter win over Winnacunnet and Concord win against Souhegan.
- Merrimack has clinched the sixth seed.
- Nashua South gets in with a Concord loss to Souhegan.
- Exeter gets in with a win over Winnacunnet and a Concord loss to Souhegan.
- Concord needs a win over Souhegan and an Exeter loss to get in.

**First-round matchups (changes in bold)**

- No. 8 **Nashua South** at No. 1 Bedford
- No. 5 Pinkerton at No. 4 Londonderry
- No. 7 **Concord** at No. 2 Souhegan
- No. 6 Merrimack at No. 3 Bishop Guertin

### Division II

**Eliminated:** Goffstown (5-11, 1.2500); Merrimack Valley (3-10, 0.9231); Pembroke (3-10, 0.9231); Manchester Memorial (2-13, 0.5333); Alvirne (2-12, 0.5714); Spaulding (1-16, 0.2353).

**Remaining schedule**

- **Friday:** Winnacunnet at Exeter, 4 p.m.; Windham at Portsmouth, 5:15 p.m.; Timberlane at Merrimack Valley, 5:30 p.m.; Pembroke at Kingswood, 7 p.m.

**Scenarios**

- Winnacunnet and Portsmouth will be the top two seeds. The Warriors will be the No. 1 seed with a win over Exeter or with a loss and a Portsmouth loss. Portsmouth gets the one seed with a win over Windham and a Winnacunnet loss.
- John Stark will be the third seed and Hanover will be the fourth.
- Windham clinches the fifth seed with a win over Portsmouth. A loss moves Hollis Brookline up to fifth and drops Windham to sixth.
- Oyster River has clinched the seventh seed.
- Kingswood clinches the eighth seed with a win over Pembroke. Timberlane gets the eighth seed with a win over Merrimack Valley and a Kingswood loss.

- No. 8 Timberlane at No. 1 Winnacunnet
- No. 5 Windham at No. 4 Hanover
- No. 7 Oyster River at No. 2 Portsmouth
- No. 6 Hollis Brookline at No. 3 John Stark

### Division III

**Tiebreakers**

- ConVal wins the tiebreaker with Gilford thanks to a head-to-head victory.

**Remaining schedule**

- **Friday:** Campbell at Belmont, 4 p.m.; Inter-Lakes/Moultonborough at Plymouth, 4 p.m.; Pelham at St. Thomas, 4 p.m.; Gilford at Laconia, 6 p.m.; Bishop Brady at ConVal, 6:30 p.m.; Lebanon at Keasarge, 7 p.m.

**Scenarios**

- Derryfield clinched the No. 1 seed with Thursday's win over Bow. The Falcons are the No. 2 seed.
- Laconia clinches the three seed with a win over Gilford. A loss drops the Sachems to fourth and Hopkinton moves up No. 3\. A loss and a Pelham win against St. Thomas drops the Sachems to fifth and the Pythons move up to fourth.
- A Laconia win gives Hopkinton the fourth seed.
- A Laconia win and a Pelham win gives the Pythons the fifth seed. A Pelham loss and a Kearsarge win over Lebanon moves the Cougars up to fifth and drops the Pythons to sixth.
- A ConVal win over Bishop Brady clinches the seventh seed. A ConVal loss and a Gilford win gives the Eagles the seventh seed.
