But the Division I playoff picture has almost developed, so let's take a closer look at what is at stake as the teams head into Week 8 of the season. In the East/West Cluster, there are five teams still alive for four playoff spots. Nashua North (7-0) and Exeter (6-1) are already locked into two of those spots, with Nashua South (5-2), Merrimack (5-2) and Bishop Guertin (4-3) still fighting for the other two. Here's what can happen in this week's games. - **Nashua North:** Has clinched a playoff spot. Would clinch first place in the West, a home quarterfinal game and the No. 1 seed with a win this week over Merrimack, or an Exeter loss. - **Exeter:** Has clinched a playoff spot and first place in the East, and will host a quarterfinal game. Would be the No. 1 seed if North loses both of its final two games. - **Nashua South:** Can clinch a playoff spot with a win over Dover this week and a Bishop Guertin loss. - **Merrimack:** Can clinch a playoff spot with a win over Nashua North or a Bishop Guertin loss. - **Bishop Guertin:** Can't clinch a playoff spot this week, but needs a win over Spaulding or a loss by South to stay alive. In the North/South Cluster, there are also still five teams alive for four playoff spots, but the fifth team needs a lot to happen to get in. Londonderry (7-0) and Salem (6-1) have already clinched playoff spots. Bedford (5-2), Goffstown (5-2) and Pinkerton (4-3) are still alive for the other two. Here's what can happen in this week's games. - **Londonderry:** Has clinched a playoff spot and would clinch first place in the South, a home quarterfinal game and the No. 1 seed with a win over Manchester Memorial. - **Bedford:** Currently is in first place in the North. Can clinch the No. 2 seed with a win over Timberlane and loss by Goffstown. - **Salem:** Has clinched a playoff spot. Can still finish first in the South if it wins both of its last two games and Londonderry loses both of its games. Would clinch at least the No. 3 seed with a win over Goffstown. - **Goffstown:** Can still finish first in the North if it wins out and Bedford loses one of two. Would clinch a playoff spot with a win over Salem. - **Pinkerton:** Can't clinch a playoff spot this week, but needs a win over Windham or a Bedford loss to stay alive. Here is how each division looks as the eighth week of the regular season is about to get underway. *Note: Divisions I, II and III will have eight playoff teams and Division IV will have four playoffs teams. These are not official standings or pairings.* ## Division I For the 2019 season, the division is split into the North/South cluster and the East/West cluster. The top team in each conference earns a playoff berth and will be seeded Nos. 1 and 2 based on win/loss record.
