Playoff Picture: Field Hockey (Oct. 1)

There's just two weeks left in the field hockey regular season, and while some teams have already locked up playoff spots, there's a handful of teams still battling to get into the postseason.

On Monday, Manchester Memorial hosts Dover in a game that could determine who makes the field in Division I, while the rest of the week holds big games between Manchester Central and Merrimack (on Monday) and Winnacunnet and Londonderry (on Wednesday).

Pembroke faces a tough week in Division II, as it heads to John Stark (on Monday) and hosts Sanborn (on Tuesday) as it tries to hang on to a playoff spot. Meanwhile, Souhegan plays at Derryfield on Tuesday in a matchup of top teams.

And in Division III, St. Thomas, Winnisquam and Berlin all face a big week, as they play each other while trying to improve playoff position or stay in the postseason race.

• Manchester Central wins the tiebreaker with Timberlane thanks to a better rating against tournament teams.
• Dover wins the tiebreaker with Bishop Guertin thanks to a better rating against tournament teams.

Rising: Manchester Central jumped from 10th to sixth this week after winning six in a row before a 1-0 loss to Windham last Friday.

Falling: Keene continued it's tumble down the standings, as the Blackbirds have lost five in a row after winning their first five games. That's dropped Keene from No. 2 in the standings to 11th.

Rising: Souhegan picked up a pair of wins last week to move up to fourth in the standings, and has a chance to go higher with a game against Derryfield on Tuesday.

Falling: Bow dropped two games last week - to Merrimack Valley and Portsmouth - to drop outside of the playoff field.
