The halfway point of the high school football season is here, and with it comes a game that many in Division II have had circled on the calendar since the schedules were released.
On Saturday, Plymouth (4-0) travels to St. Thomas (4-0) in a matchup of the two teams currently at the top of the standings, but that's not the only reason this game has a little extra attached to it.
The Bobcats have won the last two division titles, and on the way to those championships, they've beaten the Saints. Two years ago, it was in the quarterfinals, and last season, the semifinals.
But that's not the only game this weekend that looms large over the division. On Friday, Souhegan will host Milford and John Stark plays at Kennett in games between teams trying to improve their postseason chances, and on Saturday, Pelham heads to Hollis Brookline.
