# Playoff Picture: Division II football

When it comes to the Division II playoffs, every game counts.

With the eight postseason slots determined by football rating, they all really do. That makes it difficult to figure out who is in and who is out, because over the next two weeks, the outcome of all 22 games will count.

There are some teams that we can assume are in - Windham, John Stark and Hanover, all at 7-0, seem to have a postseason trip wrapped up. Plymouth is also in good shape, while ConVal, St. Thomas, Bow and Milford hold their destiny in their hands.

It will likely take seven wins for a team to assure itself of a spot, while a 6-3 record will mean tiebreakers. Considering that, it seems that Hollis Brookline (5-2) and Laconia (4-3) have the best chances to get back into the field, while Kennett, Laconia and Sanborn - all 3-4 - aren't mathematically out yet, it's going to be a long shot.

Here’s a look at what the Division II postseason would like if it started this week.

**Playoff teams:** Bow, ConVal, Hanover, John Stark, Milford, Plymouth, St. Thomas, Windham.

**In the hunt:** Hollis Brookline, Lebanon.

**Quarterfinal matchups:** No. 8 Milford at No. 1 Windham; No. 5 ConVal at No. 4 Plymouth; No. 7 Bow at No. 2 John Stark; No. 6 St. Thomas at No. 3 Hanover.

**The field:** The eight teams in the playoff field remain the same for another week, but there was some shuffling. John Stark's win over Plymouth flipped the two, with the Generals moving up to the second seed, while the Bobcats moved down to fourth. St. Thomas and Bow swapped spots, due to the Saints' higher rating. Among the teams outside the playoffs, Hollis Brookline moved up to the spot of first-team-out, and will likely need to win out and have someone in the bottom four lose a game or two.

**Games to watch this week:** Kennett at Hanover, Friday, 7 p.m.; Sanborn at Milford, Friday, 7 p.m.; ConVal at St. Thomas, Saturday, 1:30 p.m.; Lebanon at Plymouth, Saturday, 1:30 p.m.; Bow at John Stark, Saturday, 7 p.m.
