# Playoff Picture: Division I Football (Nov. 1)

The last week of the regular season is here for the top three divisions in the state and there's still a few things left to be determined before the playoffs start next week.

In Division I, six of the eight spots have been wrapped up, with four teams trying to claim the final two playoff spots.

Here are scenarios for the teams in contention for the postseason in D1.

- **Nashua North:** Has clinched a playoff spot and the top seed in the East/West Cluster.
- **Exeter:** Has clinched a playoff spot and the No. 2 seed in the East/West Cluster.
- **Nashua South:** Has clinched a playoff spot. Will be the No. 3 seed in the East/West Cluster with a win over Exeter or a loss and a loss by Bishop Guertin or a loss and a win by Merrimack and Bishop Guertin.
- **Merrimack:** Will clinch the No. 4 seed in the East/West Cluster with a win over Winnacunnet or a loss and a Bishop Guertin loss.
- **Bishop Guertin:** Will clinch a playoff spot with a win over Dover and a loss by Merrimack. Would be the No. 3 seed with a win and losses by Nashua South and Merrimack.
- **Londonderry:** Has clinched a playoff spot and the top seed in the North/South Cluster.
- **Bedford:** Will clinch the No. 2 seed in the North/South Cluster with a win over Pinkerton or a loss and a Goffstown loss. A loss and a Goffstown win would eliminate Bedford.
- **Goffstown:** Has clinched a playoff spot. Will be the No. 2 seed with a win over Timberlane and a Bedford loss. Will be the No. 3 seed with a win and a Bedford win, or a loss and a Salem loss. Will be the No. 4 seed with a loss and a Salem win.
- **Salem:** Has clinched a playoff spot. Will be the No. 3 seed with a win over Manchester Memorial and a Goffstown loss, or a win and a Goffstown win and a Bedford loss.
- **Pinkerton:** Will clinch the No. 4 seed with a win over Bedford and a Goffstown win.

Here is what the D1 playoffs look like going into the weekend.

## Division I

For the 2019 season, the division is split into the North/South cluster and the East/West cluster. The top team in each conference earns a playoff berth and will be seeded Nos. 1 and 2 based on win/loss record. The next two best teams in the cluster, again based on win/loss record, will be seeded Nos. 3 and 4.

### North/South cluster

**North Conference**

- Bedford (6-2, 11.2500)
- Goffstown (6-2, 12.5000)
- Manchester Central (3-5, 4.5000)
- Concord (2-6, 2.7500)
- Manchester Memorial (1-7, 1.2500)

**South Conference**

- Londonderry (8-0, 17.5000)
- Salem (6-2, 12.2500)
- Pinkerton (5-3, 8.5000)
- Windham (3-5, 4.7500)
- Timberlane (0-8, 0.0000)

**Tiebreakers:** Bedford wins the tiebreaker with Goffstown for the No. 2 seed thanks to a head-to-head victory. Goffstown wins the tiebreaker with Salem for the No. 3 seed thanks to a head-to-head victory.

**Playoff matchups:** No. 1 Londonderry vs. No. 4 Salem; No. 2 Bedford vs. No. 3 Goffstown.

### East/West Cluster

**East Conference**

- Exeter (7-1, 13.5000)
- Portsmouth-Oyster River (3-5, 4.7500)
- Spaulding (2-6, 3.2500)
- Dover (2-6, 3.5000)
- Winnacunnet (1-7, 1.7500)

**West Conference**

- Nashua North (8-0, 17.2500)
- Nashua South (6-2, 11.0000)
- Merrimack (5-3, 9.5000)
- Bishop Guertin (5-3, 9.5000)
- Keene (1-7, 1.5000)

**Tiebreakers:** Merrimack wins the tiebreaker with Bishop Guertin thanks to a head-to-head victory.

**Playoff matchups:** No. 1 Nashua North vs. No. 4 Merrimack; No. 2 Exeter vs. No. 3 Nashua South.

**This weekend’s schedule**

- **Friday, Nov. 1:** Spaulding at Keene, 6:30 p.m.; Winnacunnet at Merrimack, 6:30 p.m.; Exeter at Nashua South, 6:30 p**.**m.; Nashua North at Portsmouth-Oyster River, 7 p.m.; Manchester Central at Londonderry, 7 p.m.; Bedford at Pinkerton, 7 p.m.; Goffstown at Timberlane, 7 p.m.; Windham at Concord, 7 p.m.
- **Saturday, Nov. 2:** Manchester Memorial at Salem, 1:30 p.m.; Dover at Bishop Guertin, 6:30 p.m.
