# Playoff Picture: Division I Conference Championships

Bedford and Concord will meet again for the Division I North Conference championship.

The postseason has arrived for Division I football, and here's a look at the final standings and the matchups for the conference championship games.

## East Conference

1. Exeter (7-2, 13.11)\*
2. Portsmouth (6-3, 10.44)\*
3. Spaulding (2-7, 2.89)
4. Winnacunnet (2-7, 2.67)
5. Dover (0-9, 0.00)

**Conference championship:** Portsmouth at Exeter, Nov. 8, 1 p.m. Exeter won the regular-season meeting 28-17 on Oct. 10\. That game started the Blue Hawks on a four-game win streak to end the season, which included three wins at home. The previous week, Exeter lost to Bedford at home, its first home loss since 2011\. After averaging 13.4 points in its first five games, Exeter averaged 32.3 in its final four. Portsmouth went 2-2 in its last four after starting the year 4-1\. The Clippers are in their first season in Division I after playing in the championship game in Division II/III in seven of the last eight years.

## North Conference

1. Bedford (9-0, 18.00)\*
2. Concord (6-3, 9.11)\*
3. Goffstown (5-4, 9.11)
4. Manchester Memorial (5-4, 8.44)
5. Manchester Central (3-6, 4.89)

**Conference championship:** Concord at Bedford, Nov. 8, 3 p.m. Bedford won the regular-season meeting 24-16 in overtime on Oct. 17\. The win was the third of a three-game stretch in which the Bulldogs were tied or trailed in the fourth quarter before pulling out a win. The 16 points was also the most allowed by Bedford all season. For Concord, it was part of a 2-3 finish after a 4-0 start to the season. In its three loses, Concord has scored 17 points or less, while in its wins, its has averaged 36.8.

## South Conference

1. Pinkerton (9-0, 18.00)\*
2. Londonderry (8-1, 15.11)\*
3. Salem (7-2, 12.44)
4. Timberlane (4-5, 6.89)
5. Merrimack (2-7, 3.33)

**Conference championship:** Londonderry at Pinkerton, Nov. 8, 1 p.m. Pinkerton won the regular-season contest 41-21 on Sept. 26\. Londonderry's point total in that game was its lowest of the season and the most points the Astros allowed all year. Since that game, Pinkerton has outscored opponents 222-28, and for the year, the Astros have averaged 41 points. Londonderry has averaged 34.6 points per game an allowed 17.4\. The winner will host a semifinal game. For the second straight year, a team that finished 7-2 in Division I (Salem) is not in the postseason.

## West Conference

1. Bishop Guertin (4-5, 6.89)\*
2. Alvirne (4-5, 6.44)\*
3. Nashua South (4-5, 6.44)
4. Nashua North (2-7, 3.56)
5. Keene (1-8, 1.56)

**Conference championship:** Alvirne at Bishop Guertin, Nov. 8, 3 p.m. at Stellos Stadium. Bishop Guertin won the regular-season meeting 32-14 on Oct. 25, part of a three-game winning streak for the Cardinals to end the season. After starting the year 0-3 and 1-5, Bishop Guertin is hosting the game, while Alvirne started 3-1 and 4-2 before losing its final three. The Cardinals also went 4-0 against the West and 0-5 against the South. Fun fact: Timberlane, which was fourth in the South, would have won this conference thanks to its head-to-head wins over BG and Alvirne.

**Semifinals:** Nov. 15 at home of higher seed. (Seeding is determined by rating of the four remaining teams, not including the result of the conference game).

**Championship:** Nov. 22, 6 p.m. at UNH.
