Playoff Picture: Division I football (Updated 10.24)

With the final week of the regular season on its way, the Division I postseason is almost all wrapped up.

On one side, all four teams and the quarterfinal matchups have been determined. On the other side, three of the four playoff teams have clinched, with two teams battling on Saturday for the final spot.

Here's what has been determined so far.

Who is in: Bedford, Merrimack, Goffstown, Salem, Exeter, Bishop Guertin, Nashua North.

Work to do: Dover, Nashua South.

Who is out: Portsmouth, Manchester Central, Pinkerton, Winnacunnet, Spaulding, Alvirne, Keene, Manchester Memorial, Londonderry, Timberlane, Concord.

With two games left in Week 8 - Keene plays at Alvirne and Winnacunnet plays at Dover on Monday in games that were suspended on Friday - this is what the standings look like.

North/South Cluster

What's locked up

• The entire North/South Cluster. Bedford will be the No. 1 seed and host No. 4 Salem in the quarterfinals, while Merrimack will be No. 2 seed - regardless of Friday's outcome - and will host No. 3 Goffstown.
• Exeter is the No. 1 seed in the East/West Cluster. Bishop Guertin and Nashua North have both clinched playoff spots, and one will be the No. 2 seed.

Scenarios: North/South

• None. Bedford is the No. 1 seed with the best overall record. Merrimack is the No. 2 seed because it won the South. Goffstown is third based on head-to-head tiebreaker with Salem.

Scenarios: East/West

• The winner of Friday's game between Bishop Guertin and Nashua North wins the West and gets the No. 2 seed.
• If Dover beats Nashua South on Saturday, it gets the No. 3 seed, while the Bishop Guertin-North loser would be No. 4.
• If Nashua South loses to Dover on Saturday, it's eliminated.
• If there is a three-way tie at 6-3 between North, South and Dover - the teams would have to go to the fifth tiebreaker - which is rating against division opponents on the road. North would win that tiebreaker, giving it the No. 3 seed. The tie between South and Dover would be split by head-to-head result, which in this scenario would go to South. The Panthers would be the fourth seed and Dover would be out.
• If there is a three-way tie at 6-3 between Bishop Guertin, South and Dover, the tie would be broken by head-to-head results. Bishop Giuertin beat both teams, so it would get the No. 3 seed. The tie between South and Dover would be split by head-to-head result, which in this scenario would go to South. The Panthers would be the fourth seed and Dover would be out.
