The NHIAA released tournament dates for the fall season last week, and one glaring change stood out greater than any other date.

The high school football championship games, which the NHIAA had announced in March would be held at Saint Anselm's College, were scheduled for the home of the higher seed. That has always been the case for New Hampshire football, and [will once again](http://www.nashuatelegraph.com/sportshighschoolsports/962498-221/nhiaa-football-title-games-wont-take-place.html?ref=nh-highschoolsports.com) be so, [at least for 2012](http://www.unionleader.com/article/20120529/SPORTS/705309999/1003/sports?ref=nh-highschoolsports.com).

The state's six high school championship games were to be played on two days during November, with the Divisions IV-VI games on Nov. 11 and the Division I-III games on Nov. 17\. Now, the Divisions IV-VI games will be held on Nov. 10 at the higher seeded team, and the other three will remain on the same date, also at the home of the higher seed.

With the NHIAA set to cut the number of divisions from six to three for the 2013, both the organization and the school were hopeful they could play the championship games at Saint Anselm's next year.

It's the second time in recent years that the NHIAA has made plans to play its football championship games at a neutral site, only to have those plans changed. In 2007, the NHIAA went into the football season planning to play its then-five championship games at different turf fields across the state, but the locations were changed back to the home of the higher seed midway through the season.
