Pioneers blow out Cardinals in rematch

Andrew Lauderdale and Carmen Giampetruzzi each had 19 points to lead the Trinity High School boys basketball to a 74-43 win Friday night over Bishop Guertin.

Mabor Gabriel added 16 points for the Pioneers (7-2), who lost to the Cardinals in last year's Division I championship game. Trinity led by 24 at halftime, withstood a 12-2 run by Bishop Guertin in the third quarter, and opened the fourth with a 16-1 run.

Joe McCarthy led the Cardinals (4-5) with 16 points and Logan Kesty added eight markers.
