Pinkerton's Kane named Gatorade's New Hampshire Girls Basketball Player of the Year

Brooke Kane has been named Gatorade's New Hampshire Girls Basketball Player of the Year, making her the first player from Pinkerton Academy to win the award.

A senior, Kane helped the Astros reach the Division I semifinals this season, a year after Pinkerton was the runner-up in 2018. This season, she averaged 20.3 points, 7.9 rebounds, 2.3 steals, 2.1 assists and 1.3 blocks, and for her career, scored more than 1,249 points.

Last year, Kane was named the D1 Player of the Year and has been a two-time first-team all-state selection.

"Brooke is not only a fluid scorer, she scores in all ways," Merrimack coach Courtney Cheetham said. "She can post you up, she can hit 3-pointers as well as anybody and she can beat you off the dribble. Brooke is unselfish, humble, hard-working and skilled."

Kane will attend the University of New Hampshire in the fall, where she'll continue her basketball career.
