Page comes out on top at MOCs

LONDONDERRY – The fourth time was the charm for Joey Page.
The junior from Nashua High School North had lost to rival Tyler Ellwood of South three times this season, including last week’s Division I 152-pound championship match.
Page finally got the best of Ellwood on the biggest stage Saturday. After barely getting out of the semifinals, and overcoming a scary moment in the final, Page defeated Ellwood 6-2 to win the championship at 152 at the Meet of Champions at Londonderry High School.
The Titans grappler was one of two locals to pull out state titles, as Merrimack’s Tyler Baulier repeated as the 215 champion, besting Concord’s Griffin Smith in the final. Baulier, who also won the Division II title, took out the two wrestlers he beat last week for a second time on his way to the final.
Page, Ellwood and Baulier will be joined by Hollis/Brookline’s Casey Quinn (160), Bishop Guertin’s Mitch Fokas (130) and Milford’s Joe Albina at the New England Regional Championships next weekend at New Haven, Conn. The top three in each class advance to regionals.
