Over two dozen locals named to girls lacrosse all-state teams

A total of 27 area high school girls lacrosse players received all-state honors for the 2011 season, five of whom were named to their respective division's first-team.

Merrimack and Bishop Guertin led the way with a total of six players each receiving all-state honors in Division II. Hollis/Brookline had five players named all-state after its first season in Division I.

Souhegan goalie Alexa Katsigianis was named to the Division I first-team after helping the Sabers to a record of 12-3 in the division. Teammates Mickenzie Larivee, Morgan King and Meggie Whitney were named to the division's second team.

H/B's Annabelle Eliopoulos, Hanna Mazzola and Emily Lombardi received Division I second-team honors after helping the Cavaliers to a 7-6 record in the division. Katie O'Hara and Kelli Johnson were named all-state honorable mention.

Nashua North's Maddie Cody and Ellie Shuman, and Nashua South's Caitlin Ackerman, also received all-state honorable mention.

In Division II, Merrimack's Taylor Hogan and Emily Pollard were both named to the all-state first team, as were Bishop Guertin's Callie Santos and Bedford's Aleah MacKay.

Bishop Guertin had four players named to the second team: Molly McGaffigan, Jackie Geisler, Kayla Lambert and Nicole Pettiglio.

Merrimack's Lauren Perry and Erin MacLean also earned second-team honors, while teammates Courtney Brown and Nikki Pelletier receiving all-state honorable mention.

Bedford's Ashley Maddox, Alex Fink and Drew Shapiro were also named all-state honorable mention.
