# NHHSSports Football Performances of the Week (Sept. 10)

Every week during the football season, on the Ninth State Sports Show podcast, Joe Marchilena and Mike Lochman will each select a Player and a Team of the Week from the previous weekend's performances.

Here are the selections for Week 1:

### Player of the Week

- **Mike's** **Pick: Matt Morrison, Pinkerton.** The senior ran for 238 yards on 13 carries and caught one pass for 80 yards to go with four touchdowns in the Astros' 40-17 win over Andover, Mass.
- **Joe's Pick: Mike Landmesser, Alvirne.** The junior burst onto the scene Friday, rushing for 159 yards and three touchdowns as the Broncos rolled to a 35-14 win over Manchester Central.

### Team of the Week

- **Mike's Pick: Winnacunnet.** The Warriors matched their win total of a year ago by getting a 30-20 win over Portsmouth-Oyster River, thanks in part to the McDonald brothers. Senior Mason ran for 123 yards and a touchdown while sophomore Jaxon caught two passes for 74 yards and two touchdowns.
- **Joe's Pick: Manchester West.** The Blue Knights showed up on defense in a 43-0 win over Pembroke, holding the Spartans to just 67 yards while getting four takeaways. That included three interceptions, with Jerome Henert and Elias Abreau getting a pick-6 each.
