NHHSSports Football Performances of the Week (Oct. 13)

Every week during the football season, on the Ninth State Sports Show podcast, Joe Marchilena and Mike Lochman will each select a Player and a Team of the Week from the previous weekend’s performances.

Here are the selections for Week 6:

Player of the Week

• Mike’s Pick: Jordan Ball, Pinkerton. With his team in need of someone to step up, Ball did just that, rushing for almost 200 yards and four touchdowns as the Astros won their fifth in a row, beating Manchester Central 36-13.
• Joe’s Pick: Demitrius Tsakiris, Portsmouth-Oyster River. The senior running back helped lead the ClipperCats to a 28-21 comeback win over Nashua North, as he ran for 132 yards and two touchdowns.

Team of the Week

• Mike’s Pick: Manchester Memorial. Down more than 10 points in the second half, the Crusaders rallied to force overtime behind some big special teams plays and then capitalized to get a 31-25 win over Winnacunnet.
• Joe’s Pick: Stevens. The Cardinals gave their postseason hopes a big boost by handing Inter-Lakes/Moultonborough its first loss of the season, pulling out a 14-6 win over the Lakers.
