Nashua South's Knight named NH Gatorade Football Player of the Year
Trevor Knight of the Nashua High School South football team was named Gatorade's Player of the Year for New Hampshire, making him the third Panther in the last seven years to receive the award.
Trevor Knight of the Nashua High School South football team was named Gatorade's Player of the Year for New Hampshire, making him the third Panther in the last seven years to receive the award.
Knight, a senior quarterback and defensive back, is the fifth Nashua athlete to receive the award in its 29- year history. He helped the Panthers to a 9-2 record, throwing for 1,800 yards and 19 touchdowns while rushing for 1,553 yards and another 19 scores. He also had 36 tackles and four interceptions on defense.
Other Nashua athletes to receive the award are David Zocco (2008-09) and Billy Ferriter (2007-08), who both did so while playing at South, along with Femi Ayi (1997-98) and Matt Lapolice (1987-86).
Knight is verbally committed to continue his football career at the University of New Hampshire.
