Nashua North football blanks Bishop Guertin to remain unbeaten

NASHUA - The Nashua High School North football team continued its undefeated season on Friday night, as the Titans shut out Bishop Guertin, 35-0.

North continues to impress on the field outscoring opponents 197-48 while going 6-0 so far this season.

Under head coach Dante Laurendi, the Titans run a very effective offense and a disciplined defense. In this game, North had five touchdown drives with an average drive distance of 75 yards. On the defensive side of the ball, the Titans held the Cardinals to 10 first downs while also having three takeaways.

North quarterback Curtis Harris had another impressive day leading the Titans' offense, as he went 5 for 6 passing for 92 yards with three touchdown passes. Harris also added another stellar game on the ground with a 40-yard touchdown run on the opening drive of the game.

Titans running back Jayden Espinal added a great ground performance with a touchdown run of his own, while wide receiver Sam Nicholls caught two passes for 37 yards and two touchdowns.

For Bishop Guertin and head coach John Trisciani, it was a struggle in Nashua on Friday. In the first half the team only managed to gain five first downs. Cardinals running back Ethan Holt ran as effectively as he could, but the Titans defense did a good job against the run.

Bishop Guertin (3-3) now will be in a playoff fight for the remaining three games of the schedule. The Cardinals face off against Winnacunnet next week before traveling to Rochester to face Spaulding before finishing the regular season against Dover at home.

As for North, it will travel to Keene before hosting Merrimack, then end the season traveling to face Portsmouth-Oyster River in the final game of the regular season.
