Monadnock football coach out, then in

Linwood Patnode surprised a lot of people Thursday when he unexpectedly resigned as the head football coach at Monadnock Regional High School.

The coach cited what he felt was a lack of support from school administrators, according to a story in the The Keene Sentinel.

But after players and other supporters protested the move at a prescheduled meeting Thursday night, Patnode met with principal Jed Butterfield and will be back on the sideline Saturday when the Huskies host Trinity for homecoming.

Patnode is in his third season with Mondanock, sporting a 12-11 overall record.
