After overhauling its football divisions for last season, the NHIAA has made some minor tweaks to the alignments this year.
Portsmouth makes the jump to Division I, after making the D2 championship game a year ago and winning the two previous D3 titles. The Clippers will play in the East Conference while Timberlane slides over to the South and Goffstown moves to the North, to take the place of Manchester West.
West was moved down to D2 and will take Portsmouth's spot in the East Conference. Pelham made the jump up from D3 to D2, giving the division 21 teams, and the Pythons were added to the South Conference. John Stark was moved to the West and Kearsarge moved to the North, giving that conference six teams.
The loss of Pelham means D3 will have 16 teams and will they will be placed in two eight-team conferences (North and South).
While D1 plays nine regular season games, D2 team will have just eight, with one bye week. Teams in D3 will also play just eight games, but will start a week later than D1 and D2.
