Milford, Souhegan do well at D2 boys track meet
The Milford and Souhegan High School boys track teams turned in some top performances as the Division II indoor track championship at Dartmouth College Sunday.

Both the Spartans and the Sabers threatened for the title at times - Milford was in first through 10 events - but neither had enough in the end.
Oyster River finished first with 61 points and Monadnock came in second with 54. Milford ended up third with 48 points and Souhegan took fourth with 38. Lebanon, which had won at least a share of the last three Class IMS titles, was fifth with 28 points. Bedford came in seventh with 23 points and Hollis/Brookline competed but did not score.
Max Goudreau led Milford, placing in three of his four events. The senior won the 55-meter dash in 6.7 seconds while finishing third in the long jump at 20-9 and sixth in the 55 hurdles in 8.17.
Parker Lyttle also picked up an individual title, winning the high jump at 6-4, while teammate Jarad Asselin was second at 6-2. Connor Jackson was second in the 3,000, finishing in 9:27.93, and Connor Crowley took fourth in the 1,000 in 2:39.43. Mark Hamilton was also sixth in the shot put with a throw of 42-6 3/4.
Souhegan got a strong showing from its relay teams, as Parker Hall, Dennis Elverson, Chris Chininis and James Sheldon finished first in the 4x200 in 1:36.17. Chininis was also sixth in the 55 (6.89) and Elverson was sixth in the 300 (37.79).
Bert DeForest, Tanner Kent, Jacob Kittredge and Aaron Prescott also took first in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:36.36 and DeForest, Kent, Kittredge and Patrick Lynch finished second in the 4x800 relay in 8:31.79. DeForest also came in fourth in the 600 in 1:28.27 while Andrew Coates was fourth in the high jump at 6-0.
Bedford's Justin Rooney (47-10 1/4) and Joseph Thibeault (45-1/2) were second and third in the shot put respectively. Dylan York finished fourth in the 55 in 6.79 while Mike Cambria took fifth in the 1,000, finishing in 2:42.53.
Cambria teamed with Jake Winslow, Thomas Brigham and Chris Daubert to finish fifth in the 4x400 relay in 3:43.54, while Brigham, Scott Johnson, Ryan Sandford and Rob Flynn took sixth in the 4x800 relay in 8:49.57.
