# Milford hoping for another shot at girls track title

Not even a second separated the Milford High School girls track team from its second straight indoor championship last season.

Needing to finish second in the final event - the 4x200-meter relay - the Spartans came in four-tenths of a second behind Hollis/Brookline for third place. That left Milford one point behind Lebanon for the title.

Once again, Milford coach Mike Wright thinks Sunday's Division II championship at Dartmouth College could come right down to the end and that his girls could be right up there.

"Lebanon, Portsmouth has made a move late, Coe-Brown with us," Wright said when asked who were the favorites. "It will be those four. I think we can pick up a lot of points in the relays."

Wright also expects to get points from sophomore distance runner Courtney Hawkins. But although Hawkins qualified in four events, she will only run the 1,500, in which she's seeded first.

Milford is also seeded in the top eight in all three relays, but Wright expects each one to perform better than its seeding.

The meet is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. Following is a complete list of local qualifiers for Sunday's Division II girls meet:

### Bedford

- Johanna Celli, fresh. - seeded 21st in the 55, 15th in the 300,
- Brenna Williams, fresh. - seeded 21st in the 300.
- Jenny Mara, soph. - seeded first in the high jump.
- Samantha Dee, jr. - seeded 13th in the 55 hurdles and ninth in the shot put.
- Amanda Ouellette, soph. - seeded 12th in the shot put.
- 4x160 relay - seeded 10th.
- 4x400 relay - seeded eighth.
- 4x800 relay - seeded sixth.

### Hollis/Brookline

- Lindsey Vazquez, soph. - seeded 14th in the 55.
- Meghan Philpot, fresh. - seeded 16th in the 600, 14th in the 1,500 and seventh in the 3,000.
- 4x160 relay - seeded 17th.
- 4x400 relay - seeded 19th.
- 4x800 relay - seeded fifth.

### Milford

- Jessice Krafft, soph. - seeded eighth in the 55 and fourth in the 300.
- Courtney Hawkins, soph. - seeded first in the 600, third in the 1,000, first in the 1,500 and fourth in the 3,000.
- Dina Pitsas, soph. - seeded 11th in the 600.
- Cassandra Wright, jr. - seeded 15th in the 3,000.
- KaJay Rooke, jr. - seeded 17th in the 55 hurdles
- Sarah Martineau, soph. - seeded third in the high jump.
- 4x160 relay - seeded sixth.
- 4x400 relay - seeded fifth.
- 4x800 relay - seeded third.

### Souhegan

- Jade Humphreys, jr. - seeded 17th in the 300.
- Angela Blume, jr. - seeded ninth in the 600 and ninth in the 1,000.
