Field Hockey All-State: Merrimack's MacLean named top coach

The Merrimack High School field hockey team compiled its best record in the program's history in 2010, earning a top four finish during the regular season and a first-round bye in the Division I playoffs.

The Tomahawks were rewarded by having two players named to the Division I All-State first-team while head coach Ann MacLean was chosen as the Division I Coach of the Year.

Merrimack's Erin MacLean and Emily Pollard were both named to the first-team, along with Bishop Guertin's Morgan Karanasios and Kayla Lambert and Nashua South's Erin Kelley and Kelly McIntyre.

Earning second-team honors were Allie Solms of Bishop Guertin, Kara Jolly of Merrimack and South's Michelle Constant.

Division II

Four are players were named to the Division II All-State first-team, including Souhegan's Emily Gravel and Ali Sagon. Milford's Gillian Corcoran and Hollis/Brookline's Caitlin Sweeney also received first-team honors.

Leda Kennedy and Felicia Mosca of Hollis/Brookline were named to the second-team, along with Souhegan's Lizzie Callahan.
