Merrimack, Souhegan lead locals on field hockey all-state teams

Seven area high school field hockey players were named to their respective division first teams, including two from Merrimack, which advanced to the semifinals for the first time in program history.

Merrimack's Emily Pollard and Renee LaFosse received Division I first-team honors, while teammate Emily Devaney was named to the second team. Joining Pollard and LaFosse on the first team were Merisa Dion of Bishop Guertin and Kelly McIntyre and Megan Pease of Nashua South.

Libby Bacher and Lizzie Callahan of Souhegan were both named to the Division II first team, as the Sabers advanced to the semifinals for the first time in three years.
