Merrimack girls volleyball sweeps Alvirne

HUDSON - The Merrimack High School girls volleyball team recorded its ninth sweep of the season Monday, beating Alvirne 3-0 to improve to 10-0 in Division I. Game scores were 25-12, 25-17 and 25-18.

Jen Coffey led Merrimack with 19 kills and three blocks and Jo Coffey added 11 digs and 26 assists, leaving the junior eight away from a thousand for her career. Katie Flynn also had six digs, three aces and two kills and Elise Jolly added four blocks for the Tomahawks, who have lost just one game all season.

Alvirne (3-7) got six kills and four digs from Malory Coronis while Steph Jones added 14 assists and three digs. Jess Baker also had three kills, three digs and a block and Vivian Susko chipped in with 10 digs.
