AMHERST - Sean LeBlanc has been waiting all season to see the Londonderry High School boys lacrosse team put together a complete game on both ends of the field.

The Lancers coach finally got his wish Saturday.

Londonderry was solid on defense until the offense got rolling, giving the Lancers a big cushion in the first half, as they knocked off Souhegan 14-5 in Division I action.

Six players had at least two goals for Londonderry (11-3) and goalie Alex Fawcett made seven saves as he and the Lancers defense kept the Sabers off the board until late in the first half and held them to their second-lowest output of the season.

"No question, that was probably the best game we've played all year long," LeBlanc said. "It was good to see us put it all together. Usually, we have our offense carrying us or our defense carrying us and (Saturday) we had both. That's a good Souhegan team, we just executed perfectly on a lot things."

Domenic Federico led the way with three goals and an assist and Sean Snyder had two goals and two assists for the Lancers. Peter Navarro, Jeff Wiedenfeld, Thomas Fougere and Anthony Federico (assist) added two goals apiece and Nate Andrews also scored, as Londonderry beat Souhegan (8-5) for the second time this season. The first win was a 7-4 victory on May 11.

Souhegan got three goals from Tyler Hall while Foster Burnley and Ethan Hopey each added a goal. John Lohnes made seven saves after coming in early in the second quarter when the Sabers moved starting goalie Alex Burnley to attack to try to jump start the offense.

Londonderry led 4-0 at the time of the switch, getting two goals in the first two minutes of both the first and second quarters, and the Lancers put four more past Lohnes - including three on the first four shots he faced - to stretch the lead to 8-0.

"All season we've struggled to score and tried to move some chess pieces around," Souhegan coach Keith Bertrand said. "We moved Alex Burnley out of goal and put him at attack, trying to see if we could jump start the offense. We weren't able to do that. We weren't able to win faceoffs, which was wearing down (the defense)."

The Sabers finally got on the board with 2:29 left in the first half, and scored again with 12.8 seconds to until the break, but they still trailed by six goals at halftime.

"We got down 8-0 and it's tough to win games there," Bertrand said. "Our midfielders are doing the majority of our scoring and our attack wasn't getting going. We tried to give them a spark, but it wasn't enough."

Souhegan won the faceoff to open the second half, and after a penalty on Londonderry, kept possession for the beginning of the third. But after a save by Fawcett, the Lancers went the other way, getting a goal from Navarro for a 9-2 lead.

Londonderry outscored Souhegan 3-1 over the final six minutes of the third to take a 12-3 lead into the fourth, and the teams traded goals the rest of the way.

"We played an excellent game as a team," LeBlanc said. "It was a good team win. We had talked after the Pinkerton loss about forgetting about who we were playing and focusing on ourselves to make sure we were playing our best lacrosse come the end of May. I think that's exactly what we're doing."
