Locals fall in Division II field hockey playoffs

Third-seeded Souhegan fell to No. 14 Plymouth, 1-0, on a goal scored by the Bobcats with just three minutes remaining in the game. Plymouth advances to face No. 11 Hanover, which upset No. 6 Merrimack Valley 2-1. Souhegan finishes the season with a record of 12-2-1.
No. 12 Milford saw its season come to an end in a 2-0 loss to No. 5 Lebanon. The Spartans finish the season at 6-7-2, while the Raiders move on to face No. 4 Oyster River, which knocked off No. 13 Windham 2-1.
Top-seeded Bow remained unbeaten by beating No. 16 Hollis/Brookline, 4-1.
Caitlin Sweeney had the only goal for the Cavaliers, who end their season with a record of 5-9-1. Bow will take on No. 8 Kingswood, which beat No. 9 Goffstown 1-0.
Also advancing were No. 2 Kennett, which defeated No. 15 Con-Val 4-0, and No. 10 St. Thomas, which knocked off No. 7 Portsmouth 2-1. The Eagles and Clippers will also meet in the quarterfinals on Saturday.
